Exclusive technologies
This Pitts® UMX™ is equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to mitigate the effects of wind and turbulence to provide a locking feel that makes you feel like you're flying a much larger aircraft. Optional SAFE Select technology offers pitch and tilt angle limits as well as an automatic upgrade that can be turned on or off at the touch of a switch, making it the easiest Pitts® to fly to date!
Capable of telemetry
The Pitts® S-1S UMX™ is equipped with a flight control/controller unit that includes an ESC and a Spektrum™ receiver that provides real-time range of flight battery voltage to equipped Spektrum AirWare™ compatible transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, the iX12, iX20 and others) while you fly.
Superior performance
The factory-installed brushless power supply system includes a 2S and 3S compatible outrunner motor. This upgraded power system offers similar performance to the original when flying with 2S 280-300mAh batteries (a JST-RCY to JST-PH adapter, including SPMXCA327, is required), or more speed and unlimited vertical performance when flying with 3S 300mAh batteries.

SAFE Technology
Bind-N-Fly®: the advantage of this trim level
Already have a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make it easier than ever to get to the air quickly and with the best possible control. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed. So all you have to do is connect the receiver to a compatible transmitter, complete the final assembly and fly!
This bind-N-Fly base model is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX® receiver with AS3X® (Artificial Stabilization-3-aXis) technology that works behind the scenes to mitigate the effects of wind and turbulence. This gives you stability and precision that make you feel like you're flying a much larger and perfectly tuned aircraft.
If this is your first model of its kind, or if you want an additional margin of safety while becoming familiar with the aircraft, you can activate the optional SAFE® Select flight envelope protection technology built into the receiver. No programming is required.
When SAFE Select is enabled, you get:
Pitch and tilt angle limits
These envelope limits prevent the aircraft from nose-diveting or passing on its back. They also prevent excessive climbing or diving angles.
Automatic self-leveling
The aircraft returns instantly and keeps its flight level when the sleeves are released and in the neutral position. It is also useful for keeping the wings horizontal during takeoffs and landings.
Easy assignment of position changes - no complex programming is required
The simple procedure of assigning a transmitter switch to enable and disable SAFE Select functions requires no complex programming and takes only a few seconds. For UMX models like this, SAFE Select is automatically assigned to channel 5 (Gear). So you can turn it on and off with any switch assigned to this channel (switch A by default on most Spektrum computer transmitters).
