The P-51D Mustang is one of the most popular and iconic fighter jets of all time! Its unique design allowed it to offer the best performance among all combat aircraft of the Second World War. Thanks to this incredible performance, even today, many P-51s are used in air shows and air races around the world. "Voodoo" is a modified P-51D Mustang that won unlimited class at the 2013, 2014 and 2016 Reno air races. Its unique skin is very recognizable, but it is rarely replicated on RC models. Fixed landing gear with a steerable tail wheel makes it easy to taxi, take off and land on smooth surfaces, or you can leave the landing gear disabled for more vertical speed and performance with easy manual takeoffs and grass landings. Optional SAFE Select technology offers pitch and tilt angle limits as well as automatic leveling that can be turned on or off at the touch of a button to make this racing P-51 the easiest to fly!

Capable of telemetry
The UMX P-51D Voodoo is equipped with a flight control/controller unit comprising ESC and Spektrum receiver that provides real-time telemetry of flight battery voltage to Spektrum AirWare compatible transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, the iX12, iX20 and others) while you fly.
Superior performance
The factory-installed brushless power system includes a 2S and 3S compatible outrunner motor. This upgraded power system offers similar performance to the original when used with 2S 280-300mAh batteries (a JST-RCY to JST-PH adapter is required), or it's one of the fastest UMX models ever made and it offers unlimited vertical performance when used with 3S 300mAh batteries!

The UMX P-51D Voodoo model comes fully assembled in the factory and ready to fly right out of the box! It is equipped with state-of-the-art 2.4GHz Spektrum technology that binds to your 5+ channel DSMX/DSM2 transmitter so you can fly within minutes of opening the box.
Landing gear options
You can use the included fixed landing gear – with a ladder-mounted steerable tail wheel – to roll, take off and land on smooth surfaces. You may also not use the landing gear to get more speed and vertical performance during manual takeoffs and landings on grass.

They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed. So all you have to do is connect the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish the final assembly and fly!
This Bind-N-Fly base model is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX receiver with AS3X®® (Artificial Stabilization-3-aXis) technology that works behind the scenes to mitigate the effects of wind and turbulence. This gives you stability and precision that make you feel like you're flying a much larger, perfectly tuned aircraft.
If this is your first model of its kind, or if you want an extra margin of safety while familiarizing yourself with the aircraft, you can activate the optional SAFE® Select flight envelope protection technology built into the receiver. No programming is required.
When SAFE Select is enabled, you get:
Pitch and tilt angle limits
These envelope limits prevent the aircraft from stinging or passing on its back. They also prevent excessive climbing or diving angles.
Automatic self-leveling
The aircraft returns instantly and maintains its level flight when the sleeves are released and in the neutral position. It is also useful for keeping the wings horizontal during takeoffs and landings.
Easy assignment of position changes - no complex programming required
The simple procedure of assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select functions on and off requires no complex programming and only takes a few seconds. For UMX models like this, SAFE Select is automatically assigned to channel 5 (Gear). So you can turn it on and off with any switch assigned to that channel (switch A by default on most Spektrum computer transmitters).
