HMS Erebus was a ship of the Franklin Arctic Expedition, led by Sir John Franklin in 1845. With HMS Terror, the Erebus ventured into the Arctic ice and never returned, becoming Sir John Franklin's lost expedition. The Erebus was built in 1826 and was 88 meters long. It was one of the most technologically advanced ships of its time, equipped with steam engines and designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the Arctic. However, despite its innovations, the expedition suffered serious setbacks and none of the 129 crew members aboard the Erebus and Terror survived. HMS Erebus has become a symbol of Arctic exploration and human tenacity in the face of adversity. You will only find it at OcCre.
