The butterfly is not a static model, but an animated kinetic sculpture. Each piece plays its own role in the operation of this exceptional mechanism.

Equipped with an elastic engine, the mechanical automaton moves by imitating the
butterflying without an external power source or batteries.

The delicate wings of the butterfly are made of kraft paper. The lower wings change angle of inclination
when the model works to ensure that the movements of the automaton resemble those of a
real butterfly. The pair of front legs moves while the wings flap. The pairs of hind legs are used
trigger for the elastic engine. Your butterfly comes with two sets of wings: one in color and another less bright, beige, which you can paint as you like.
The butterfly is held on a flower-shaped platform. The Butterfly bounces slightly on itself,
making its movements more realistic in the air as the flower approaches.

The Butterfly kit is made of high quality wood from sustainable sources and has everything you might need for assembly. The quality of the parts is excellent: a laser method is used to cut the parts from a plywood board that provides precise cuts. The pieces must be removed from the boards and assembled to create the complete model. Like all other Ugears models, the Butterfly comes with step-by-step instructions, in color, really easy to follow (in 11 languages: Ukrainian, English, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Italian, Chinese and Korean) and requires no glue or special tools to be fully assembled.
