The heavy armoured vehicle Sd. Kfz. 232 (Schwere Panzerspähwagen 232) was deployed in Wehrmacht units in the mid-1930s. Armed reconnaissance and communication between units were essential to conduct the Blitzkrieg. The Sd.Kfz. 232 armoured vehicle was designed to meet these needs. The mobility of this six-wheeled vehicle, on and off the road, was complemented by high-performance short- and long-range radio equipment. It was equipped with a large frame antenna that ensured clear communications on the battlefield between the command and the troops. The turret provided sufficient firepower for vehicle defense and advanced reconnaissance missions.
