In January 2023, the German government announced that it would send fourteen Leopard 2 A6 tanks to Ukraine, and then in March 2023 four more, eighteen in total.

Based on ref. 35271, Tamiya offers a 1/35 kit including a set of decals to reproduce the craft with its hypothetical markings, Ukrainian flags and white crosses, a symbol historically used in Ukraine by groups such as the Cossacks.
