Modelers and collectors were thrilled when Dragon released a full-scale 1/6 model of the famous 1/4 ton 4x4 truck (item no. 75020). The kit dazzled everyone with its intricate details and pleasing assembly, giving modelers the perfect vehicle to accompany their 1/6 scale figures. Dragon is now proud to announce a follow-up kit, this time including the iconic American 4x4 as the British Desert Raider vehicle. The Special Air Service (SAS) and the Long-Range Desert Group (LRDG) have used this type of vehicle extensively in North Africa. The SAS, formed in July 1941 by David Stirling, was a commando force designed to operate deep behind enemy lines, which it did with great success.

The 1/6 model kit shows a heavily modified vehicle for desert operations by the SAS. It was heavily loaded with jerry cans containing spare fuel and water to enable reconnaissance missions deep behind the front lines. For hot weather operations, the grill was removed and a water condenser installed. The SAS vehicle is also heavily armed with rapid-firing Vickers K machine guns. A single Vickers K weapon and a dual-mount machine gun are ready for use against ground or air targets. This exciting kit is accurate down to the smallest detail and is ready to spread widely across the sandy desert terrain of North Africa!
