Model Command Car StuG IV in 1:35 scale of Italeri reference 223.

Developed at the end of the 2nd G.M. on the chassis of the Panzer IV medium tank to provide the German army with an assault gun and tank destroyer, the StuG (Sturmgeschütz) IV was equipped with a high-velocity 75mm L/48 Stuk40 gun installed in a casemate and protected by an armored mantlet. This weapon was capable of piercing the armor of the main enemy armored vehicles. Issued to units in the early months of 1944, it complemented and often replaced the StuG III whose production had been slowed due to the increasingly frequent Allied bomber raids on German industrial areas. Widely deployed on the Eastern Front, the Stug IV was also used by Wehrmacht armored units and anti-tank detachments in Normandy where, thanks to its low profile, it was difficult to spot in the hedgerows of the French countryside.
