Description

The Alpine A 110 saga begins in Dieppe in 1962. Creator of the brand, Jean Rédélé will develop this new model based on the model A108 himself designed from the Renault Dauphine.

A 110 will borrow from many parts of the all-new Renault 8.

The main features of this car are using a chassis beam and shell glass/polyester manufactured originally in the workshops of Chappe and Gessalin.

The positioning of the engine 4 cylinders Cléon cast 5-tiered Rear overhang allows a very good balance of masses. Equipped with 2 Carburetors double body Weber, the model 1600 S develops 125 HP DIN and reached the speed of 205 km/h.

Very quickly the A110 will emerge as the rally car of reference. In 1971 she became the most powerful model with many prestigious titles including the famous Monte Carlo Rally

THEA110 1600 S will be equipped with the Renault 16 TS engine.

In 1973 bought Renault Alpine and decides to participate in the new World Rally Championship. The 4 Musketeers of Alpine Renault (Jean-Claude Andruet, Jean-Pierre Nicolas, Jean-Luc Therier, Bernard Darniche) will win 6 races among the 13 listed in the Championship of the world, making Alpine Renault the first champion manufacturer in the world of rally.

7176 copies of different A110 models will be produced in Dieppe between 1963 and July 1977. Other countries, the Spain, the Brazil, the Mexico, Bulgaria, will produce Alpine models under license.
