The USB flight/RC controller is powered directly from the PC. You don't need batteries for the controller, and you don't need to charge the batteries. The controller comes with the throttle on the left (mode 2 or mode 4) and can be converted to the throttle on the right (mode 1 or mode 3) using the instructions provided.
