The Der Kleine FALKE (Little Falcon) is a perfect "adult" first glider, with which you will learn basic building skills and how to fly models. And that's not all: the FALKE Der Kleine can be built as a class A1 (international F1H) free-flight glider, allowing you to have fun flying or compete in junior competitions. You can also install a small receiver and two micro-servos to get a small RC glider. And that's not all: you can also build a pylon with a small brushless motor and propeller to enjoy the motorized glider flight. Thanks to a clever design, the Der Kleine FALKE can be built as a free-flight model, but you can easily add RC controls and a motor at any time after assembly! Or vice versa...
Thanks to the laser-cut parts, you will only need basic tools during construction (cutter, razor saw or scroll saw, sandpaper, pins, flat brush), model glue and varnish. An ingenious design, perfectly fitting parts, clever tools included in the bag and a high level of pre-processing allow for a fast build time.
The forward part of the fuselage is made of laser-cut balsa and plywood parts, providing enough space for a ballast and a timer for the free flight model, as well as for the receiver or propulsion battery, two servos and a receiver for the RC model. Quick access to the electronics is via a removable cover. The tail reinforcement is made of an aluminum tube, guaranteeing low weight while providing great durability.
The whole balsa wood wing with a Jedelsky profile has a front part made of pre-machined balsa strips. Thanks to a clever design, you will only need a worktop to build it. The wing is attached to the fuselage by elastic bands.
The V-tail is made from laser-cut balsa parts. The control surfaces are mounted on nylon hinges; To control or adjust them, a pair of wire linkages are connected to a carbon reinforcement of the fuselage, leading to a gap in the hull. When using it as a free-flight model, secure the linkages to the outer tube with a piece of tape – the control surfaces will be attached, but still adjustable if necessary.
The supplied tow hook allows you to tow the Der Kleine FALKE with a 25 to 50m fishing line or cast it with a small catapult (5m 3x2mm elastic bands + 20m cable).
For the RC glider, you'll need an RC set with V-tail mixing, a micro receiver, and two 5-6g servos.
The FALKE Der Kleine was designed and is manufactured in the Czech Republic.
The kit contains: Laser cut balsa wood and plywood parts, pre-machined wing and stabilizer parts, carbon tail reinforcement, wire linkages and small accessories, sandpaper, ballast, elastic bands to secure the wing, tow hook, sticker sheet, construction plan, user manual.
