The Class-1 Star Destroyer (interstellar cruiser in the films) is the standard warship of the Galactic Empire in the Star Wars films. It has been developed into multiple classes, ranging in size from 900 meters to 19,000 meters in length for the Super Star Destroyers. Almost all of them were developed and built by Kuat Drive Yards. Smaller Star Destroyers are called "frigates." Venator-class frigates are the smallest and fastest. They are equipped with turbolaser turrets, as are Victory-class frigates. The much larger but very slower Star Destroyers possess not only numerous turbolaser turrets and ion cannons, but also a formidable tractor beam, which can either immobilize a smaller ship, pull it toward the emitting vessel, or pull it to a specific destination. These gigantic vessels possess a firepower that only the rebel cruisers "Mon Calamari" can counter.
