Viking ship Drakkar 1/50 wooden boat Amati
Named "Ormen Lange" (Long Serpent) by King Olaf Tryggvesso, the drakkar was the most famous warship of its time. Decorated with a dragon-headed figurehead, it could reach considerable dimensions (up to 48 m in length).
Protected by very high-level basting, with rows of overlapping edges, the drakkar had to be light and extremely manoeuvrable.
