Ford Model T mechanical - UGear
The UGR-T Retro Car is a stylish addition to the growing collection of Ugears self-assembly historic, modern and racing cars, motorcycles, trucks and other model cars.
This vintage model pays homage to the dawn of the automotive era.
The Ugears engineering team has developed a special, classic model car that will transport you back in time. Exceptional features include: a retractable fabric-lined roof, convertible doors that open and close, a hood that opens on either side to reveal a working 4-cylinder engine with a hand crank, a skeuomorphic pendulum that simulates the sound of a roaring engine, front wheels that steer using the steering wheel, and a spare tire at the rear. To operate the UGR-T Retro Car, set the "On/Off" switch to "Off" while winding the spring-driven motor using the ratchet located under the chassis. Place the model on a flat surface while holding it with one hand, press "On," release, and watch it roll. The car is equipped with "Forward," "Neutral," and "Reverse" modes.
Did you know that the era of mass-produced cars also ushered in the era of mass-produced car theft? With no way to lock open passenger compartments, easily tampered with transmissions, and no easily identifiable individual markings or serial numbers, mass-produced cars were an attractive target for thieves. Furthermore, cars offered criminals an easy way to transport stolen goods or make a quick getaway after a bank robbery. During Prohibition in the United States (1920-33), many cars were fitted with false chassis to conceal bootlegged alcohol! In fact, the rise and development of the FBI paralleled the rise and evolution of mass-produced automobiles.
The UGR-T Retro Car wooden model kit consists of 337 pieces, is rated as "advanced," and promises over 7 hours of building fun. No glue or tools are required to assemble this attractive DIY wooden model, as everything you need is included in the box. The parts are carefully laser-cut from plywood sheets, from which they are easily detached and connected. Detailed, illustrated instructions in 11 languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Ukrainian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian) will guide you through the assembly process for a successful build. If you break a piece during construction, please let us know, and we will be happy to provide a replacement free of charge.
