This DIY mini airship has that retro steampunk sensibility that Ugears is known for, with a tugboat-style cabin and rear porch, a wind-up bungee engine with on/off switch, engine-driven propellers, a spinning ship wheel, moving outriggers, and wheels. which allow the model to rotate back and forth up to 2 m on a flat surface, giving the thrill of mechanical movement. The German inventor, Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, worked on his concept and design of an inflatable airship for over twenty years before patenting his invention in 1895. Maybe one of his early sketches resembled the Steampunk airship? Commercial zeppelins have large cylindrical bodies made of fabric stretched over a rigid metal frame containing the large gas sacs that provide buoyancy. Our airship is smaller-scale, more personal and more welcoming: you can imagine flying your craft with a cup of tea on the table where you have spread out your navigation maps.
