The design of the Ugears Golden™ Snitch is based on descriptions and depictions from the Harry Potter book and film series. This do-it-yourself model is spring-operated and has a string on top that winds an internal drum, triggering the beating of the elegant feathered wooden wings as soon as the string is released. Hold the Golden Snitch and watch it try to escape by flapping its wings, or hold the pull ring with the model underneath, and be amazed by the Golden™ Snitch as it flies to meet your hand! When not in use, you can rest the Golden Snitch on its sleek and refined stand to display it on a table or shelf. You can also hang it from a hook using the eyelet of the pull string, so that your Golden™ Snitch is suspended in the air. The model is equipped with a silent ratchet system and the tension of the spring is controlled by a pendulum in order to regulate the action of the wings. The stand and body of the Golden Snitch are made of premium 3mm thick composite wood, while the two delicate wings are made of 1.5mm thick composite wood. A spare wing is included in the kit.

In the Harry Potter books, the Golden™ Snitch is described as a golden walnut-sized sphere with silver wings. In the old days, Quidditch seekers would try to catch a magical little bird called Vivet™. When these birds were threatened with extinction, Bowman Wright, a skilled metal smelter, invented the Snitch to replace them. By building the Ugears Snitch™, you become a skilled farrier!
