NASA's Saturn V rocket holds the record for the largest, most powerful and heaviest launch vehicle ever built, and is the only rocket to have carried humans beyond low Earth orbit. Thirteen missions were successfully completed using Saturn V rockets: the twelve Apollo missions and the launch of Skylab (the first space station in the United States) into low Earth orbit. All three stages used liquid fuel (the first used RP-1, while stages 2 and 3 used liquid hydrogen) mixed with liquid oxygen (LOX) as an oxidizer.

The third stage conceals the ML (lunar module), whose legs are foldable. As in the real Apollo missions, the ML can dock with the detachable MC (command module) that sits at the top of the third stage, just below the LES (rocket rescue tower).
