Ugears-Models delves into the medieval world and invites you to become a siege expert with its exciting new model – the Tower Crossbow. Inspired by ancient artillery and legendary battles of the past recreated in films, books, and games, this model offers a fresh perspective on the classic war machine, allowing you to test your skills as a great conqueror.
The new model from Ugears-Models consists of two parts: the siege engine itself and the mechanical tower. Both units are mobile and have many articulated details.
The crossbow consists of a base with adjustable feet that stabilize the machine during firing. The crossbow fires small wooden projectiles. Three rounds can be stored on the side.
The travel and elevation mechanism allows the crossbow to be adjusted to the required angle in both horizontal and vertical planes for optimal aiming. The winding mechanism lever is located on the right side of the model. This same lever acts as a trigger, launching your projectile at the target once the sights are adjusted.
The crossbow can be detached from the base and mounted on top of the tower.
The siege engine, designed to demolish defensive fortifications, has been used since antiquity. However, the two-part model from Ugears-Models references the medieval period in its design, particularly the tower detail. Decorated with ornaments, like a classic ivy-covered castle tower with a griffin/dragon on a coat of arms, it conceals some interesting construction features: it's an Ugears-Models model, meaning it can't be a static piece of wood. The gear on the side of the tower is part of the mechanism that raises the second level, revealing the spiral staircase and internal structure. The tower is fully raised when you can see the entire shield with the dragon on it. Aim the crossbow at the tower to strike the shield, and the second level will collapse!
The model's designers gave the tower walls an ancient, "ruined" appearance – with missing bricks here and there – ensuring you can observe and appreciate the movement of the gears, the tower's interior, and the complete mechanism.
