The tram (also known as a streetcar) is one of the oldest forms of urban transportation. San Francisco's famous cable car was put into operation in 1873 and is still running today! The team at UGEARS-MODELS.FR drew inspiration from early trams and funiculars to create this model, and it's probably the most romantic model in our catalog – with its decidedly retro style, it can carry a message of love across the table!
The model is powered by a rubber band motor (tram mode), or moves by gravity (funicular mode) when one end of the rails is tilted upwards using a special lever (located at each end of the rails). Raise both sides of the rails and you get a bridge. The model has a start lever, a brake lever, and even an emergency exit on the roof. And of course, as with most of our models, there's storage space for your small belongings or something special for someone on the other side of the road…
The cut is clean, and the pieces detach easily from the wooden boards. Assemble it yourself in the comfort of your own home. The pieces fit together like a puzzle; no glue is needed, thanks to Ugears' patented plywood joints.
