Set of 3 wolfram-vanadium steel drill bits, diameter 0.8 mm, Proxxon.

Steel HSS drill bits of selected quality. Solid and rigid construction. Shaft and helical part forged in one piece. Optimal concentricity. The good hardness ensures durability and elasticity. For working with metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, plates, hard and soft wood. Speed: soft materials approx. 8,000 rpm, hard materials approx. 3,000 rpm. Axis Ø 2.35. All dimensions are in mm.

Remark: The term HSS tool for this group comes from the drilling equipment used. High-speed steel (high-speed steel = HSS) is a high-alloy steel, which is wear-resistant and up to about 600°C resistant to deformation by its manufacturing process. It is advisable to use a cutting oil or cooling emulsion during steel machining. White spirit or petrol is used during aluminium machining. Plastic and wood can be worked generally dry.
