Model of the legendary French frigate "Acheron" from the Napoleonic era, which became famous for its active operations against English whalers and coastal merchant ships along the South American coast. This frigate was considered a nightmare for the British Admiralty and its sailors. Her powerful rigging gave the Acheron a speed that made her virtually inaccessible to other ships, and the broadside of her guns literally swept away everything on board enemy ships.
