Launched in 1947, the 4CV was one of those small "family" cars eagerly awaited by the French after the war. Renault emphasized its acceleration and top speed: 90 km/h! Its power, braking, road handling, comfort, and affordable price contributed to its enormous popularity. Chosen in 1955 by the Paris Police, its distinctive colors earned it the nickname "Pie Car."
