It was in the early 30s, after the abolition of parisian and suburban trams that the first buses of the "TN" series were built. The progress made by the automotive industry, and mainly in the field of tyres, made it possible to design buses with fifty or more seats. The buses of the "TN" series, received 58 hp 4-cylinder engines for the TN.4 and 94 hp 6-cylinder engines for those of the TN.6 family. The vocation of the TN.4 was to serve small and medium-sized lines, in flat terrain, while that of the TN.6 with a more powerful engine was that of long suburban journeys and lines with steep slopes, such as Montmartre, Ménilmontant or Belleville. The TN.6A and TN.6C were physically identical, with the only difference in the wheels. The TN.6A had full-sail rims, while the TN.6C had removable rims, called artillery. The flexibility of the TN.6C was legendary among machinists. During the war, the buses were equipped with a gas-generating system, either Imber or Gohin - Panhard. After the war, the main modification received by the TN.6 was the "vestibulage" of the machinist's cabin, in order to offer him a minimum of comfort during the winter months. The replacement of the "TN" buses began in 1960 and the last example was withdrawn in 1969, 38 years after the first models were put into circulation.
