In 1903, Adolphe Clément, founder of the Clément-Bayard brand with Darracq as partner, created with the English Count Shrewsbury and Talbot a British subsidiary, Société Clément-Talbot Ltd. After marketing its models under the Talbot brand, the Clément-Talbot was bought by the Darracq firm in 1919. The following year, 1920, saw the Sunbeam brand join the two previous ones and thus create the British group STD (Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq).
