In this box HELLER offers you the two most emblematic vehicles of the National Gendarmerie, strongly rooted in the collective memory.

RENAULT Estafette

It is this basic model that equipped the French Gendarmerie in 1961.First in midnight blue almost black, the S'Tafette will change to medium blue or France blue in 1969. The last vehicles arrived in the units in 1981, almost at the same time as the first RENAULT Trafic. In total, some 12,255 Estafettes were in service with the Force.

RENAULT 4TL

The French government chose the 4L in 1962. Commissioned in 1963, described as revolutionary, but simple to maintain and economical, it corresponds perfectly to the demands of the Gendarmerie. The 1978 model offered here can count on a 1108 cm3 engine with 34 hp DIN and a well-staged four-speed gearbox. The Gendarmerie will deploy nearly 14,000 4Ls. The last 4L of the Gendarmerie will be handed over to the Célestins district in Paris in June 1993.

Ensuring the smooth running of a society that has become that of the automobile, the 4L and Estafette will be present on all French roads, at all crossroads, for more than three decades.
