Model GMC 2 1/2 6x6 Normandy tone vehicle in 1/35 scale by Italeri reference 6271.
The GMC 2 1/2 ton truck was produced in huge numbers and can be considered the backbone of U.S. Army logistics during World War II. Characterized by a very robust and reliable structure, with good "off-road" performance thanks to its six-wheel drive and efficient suspension design, it has been declined in many variants. In addition to the more common "Cargo" versions, with open or closed cab, with long or short wheelbases, variants have also been developed - some directly "in the field" - for more specific and punctual uses. Its role was crucial in meeting the enormous logistical needs in the weeks and months following the Normandy landings, with the transport and handling of impressive quantities of troops, ammunition, fuel and equipment.
