To celebrate the 45th anniversary in 2025 of the presentation of the Audi quattro at the International Motor Show
of the Automobile de Genève in 1980, Tamiya offers an updated re-edition of the 24031 kit with decals, an instruction manual and updated packaging. The Audi quattro played a major role in the evolution of four-wheel-drive vehicles. Although the body was similar to that of the Audi Coupé, its widened fenders and spoilers at the front and rear hinted at high performance, but it was of course its permanent four-wheel drive that created the sensation. Power was provided by a 2,144 cc in-line five-cylinder engine with turbocharger that developed an impressive 200 hp. While the car itself remains a timeless classic, the name "quattro" is still used by Audi to refer to its four-wheel drive system.
