At the 1988 Paris Motor Show, Yamaha Motor Company unveiled the FZR750R (OW01), a road-legal racing motorcycle produced in a limited series. It was based on the Yamaha YZF750, which dominated the Suzuka 8-hour endurance races in 1987 and 1988. The inline four-cylinder, five-valve, double overhead camshaft engine featured titanium connecting rods, enlarged intake and exhaust ports, and the EXUP (Exhaust Ultimate Power) system to ensure high power output. The swingarm rear suspension and Deltabox aluminum frame adopted the YZF design, resulting in weight savings and exceptional rigidity. Only one thousand units of this motorcycle were produced. Here is an updated reissue of the Yamaha FZR750R (OW01) (14058) kit, no longer available since 2011, with a new B5 double-sided leaflet containing color photos of the real motorcycle.
