Renault 4 GTL Heller 1/24 L

When the new little Renault appeared at the Paris Motor Show at the end of 1961, it was a small revolution! The manufacturer with the diamond logo unveiled a new concept, a new way of approaching the automobile.
Everything about the Renault 4 is revolutionary for a car in its segment. It features an economical four-cylinder engine with a maintenance-free sealed cooling system, front-wheel drive (a first for Renault on a passenger car), a platform onto which the bodywork is bolted, four wheels with independent suspension, four proper seats with removable front and rear bench seats, and above all a tailgate that greatly facilitates loading the trunk.
From its first model year in 1962, the 6-window limousine was called the R4L, in contrast to the base models R3 and R4. From then on, in everyone's mind, the Renault 4 would remain a "4L" regardless of its trim level or the official names chosen by the manufacturer.
This continued until its demise in December 1992. It marked over thirty years of success for one of the greatest national automotive achievements, with more than eight million units sold worldwide.
The GTL model was a great success when it was launched in 1978. This new model allowed the Renault 4 to navigate the modern traffic of the time. To achieve this, it relied on a 1108 cc engine producing 34 hp (DIN) and a well-spaced four-speed gearbox. The GTL cost 19,200 francs and quickly established itself as the best Renault 4 ever sold.
