The Traction Avant was presented at the 1934 Paris Motor Show. It appeared in three versions: the "7," the "11," and the "22." The "7 hp" was almost a prototype. The "11 hp" was presented in two versions: the "11 Légère" and the standard 11. The "22 hp" had a short lifespan, as its only appearance was at the 1934 Motor Show. André Lefèbvre took charge of the construction of this revolutionary car, the Traction Avant. From then on, Citroën embarked on the construction of a more powerful car, and in 1938 the Citroën "15 Six" made its debut. The "15 Six" was a standard 11 hp with an extended hood, and it reached a top speed of 130 km/h with remarkable road handling, earning it the nickname "Queen of the Road" in 1939. In 1953, Citroën offered three new colors: pearl gray, smoke gray, and midnight blue, but black remained the most popular. Between 1946 and 1955, the Citroën 15 was the official car of the French government. In 1955, the Presidency of the Republic purchased three "15 SIX H" chassis. One of them, bodied as a limousine by Fresnay, remained for a long time the official car of President René Coty and General de Gaulle. Production of the Citroën 15 ceased in mid-1955 after seventeen successful years.
