The Scania R 143 M Streamline is an iconic model in the history of the famous Scandinavian truck manufacturer. It enjoyed considerable commercial success in various European and non-European markets between the late 1980s and the mid-1990s. Assembled at the production site in Södertälje, Sweden, the Scania R 143 M was one of the most successful models in the '3 Series', first introduced by Scania in 1987. Powerful and reliable thanks to its 500 horsepower V8 engine, it benefited from the most advanced technologies of the time. A great deal of attention had been paid to reducing its aerodynamic drag and fuel consumption, which were important factors for success in the field of long-distance heavy transport. It has also been praised for its ease of maintenance and low operating costs.
