Magnificent Sea Harrier FRS.1 aircraft in 1/72 scale from Italeri reference 1236.
The British Aerospace Sea Harrier is a VTOL/STOVL (Short take-off and vertical landing) fighter aircraft developed to equip the British Royal Navy. It entered active service in the late 70s and in the early 80s, its main role was the air defense of the fleet. In 1982, embarked on HMS Invincible and HMS Hermes, she participated in the Falklands War, proving her operational effectiveness. Although it had subsonic flight characteristics, far inferior to those of competing aircraft such as the Mirage III, it was extremely maneuverable and reliable in all combat conditions. The Sea Harrier was armed with two 30mm ADEN guns, positioned under the fuselage, and four pylons under the wings for carrying air-to-air missiles.
