Model aircraft F-15E Strike Eagle scale 1/48 of Italeri reference 2803.
The F-15A/C Eagle was designed during the 1970s to equip the U.S. Air Force with an advanced, high-performance fighter. It was on the basis of the two-seat B/D version that the F-15E Strike Eagle all-weather fighter-bomber was developed. Designed for ground attack, bombing and interdiction missions, it entered service with the USAF in the late 1980s. It retains the features of the original F-15 design such as the two fins and the robust midwing. The aft seat of the two-seater cockpit is occupied by the WSO, the weapons systems officer who manages navigation, target tracking and the use of electronic countermeasures. It has been used in many operations starting with the Desert Shield and Desert Storm campaigns in the early 1990s.
This kit includes a super decal board offering the choice between 6 aircraft of the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing based in Lakenheath in Great Britain. All have the distinction of having participated in Operation Inherent Resolve in 2020 and all sport a nose art of "villain villain".
