The Junkers Ju87 dive bomber is certainly one of the best-known aircraft of the Second World War. This aircraft with the characteristic "seagull wing" gained great notoriety at the beginning of the war and is considered, with the Panzer Divisions of the Wehrmacht, as a symbol of the Blitzkrieg. During the conflict, new versions with different operational profiles were introduced. The Ju87G was developed as an "anti-tank" version of the Stuka in order to counter the many Russian armored vehicles on the Eastern Front after 1943. Famous Stuka pilot Hans Ulrich Rudel proposed the addition of two 37mm Flak 18 guns in pods under the wings to better counter this growing threat. In this configuration, the Ju87G "Kanonenvogel" proved extremely effective in the hands of experienced pilots. The G-2 version was even more advanced and was characterized by an enlarged wing modeled on that of the previous D-5 version.
