Model aircraft AC-119K Stinger scale 1/72 of Italeri reference 1468.
During the Vietnam War, the USAF C-119 military transport aircraft served as the basis for the design of a heavily armed AC (Attack Cargo) version intended to attack enemy troop concentrations and supply lines. Equipped with two 20mm cannons and four 7.62mm machine guns, the AC-119K version was very effective against truck columns. A version with reduced armament was built under the designation AC-119G. In addition to the two original piston engines, the aircraft also had two nacelle engines under the wings to shorten the taxiing length at take-off even with a full tank of fuel and ammunition. With the entry into service of the more powerful AC-130H Hercules, these aircraft were gradually transferred to the South Vietnamese Air Force who used them until the end of the conflict.
