The Transall C-160 was a medium-range tactical transport aircraft developed in the 1960s by the Franco-German consortium Transporter Allianz, composed at the time of Nord-Aviation (wings and nacelles), Weserflug (main fuselage, horizontal empennage) and Hamburger Flugzeugbau/HFB (forward fuselage, rear fuselage and empennage parts). It has been and still is used by the air forces of Germany, France and Turkey. After more than 50 years, all Transalls of the German army have been withdrawn from service. Not all planes are sent for scrap, because like these "Retro-Brummel", other planes are preserved, especially in museums belonging to the Bundeswehr. The last C-160 Transall with a special paint bearing the identification 50+40 of Airlift Squadron 63 in Hohn, flew over Germany for six months for its farewell tour "Last Call" 2021. It made its last flight on 20 October 2021 and landed at the former Roth/Nuremberg military airfield.
