Air Zermatt has been established since 1968 in the trade, tourism and rescue sectors. Its reputation is international. In the 1970s, Air Zermatt carried out its first direct rescues on the famous Eiger, Badile and Matterhorn north walls. Thanks to many years of experience in mountain rescue, Air Zermatt has developed various rescue systems. The rescue helicopters carry anaesthetists and paramedic rescue teams, who are called in for intervention more than 1200 times a year. Air Zermatt now employs more than 50 people and works with helicopters, including Ecureuil AS350B3.
