Model A-20B/C Havoc (Boston III) aircraft in 1/48 scale by Italeri reference 2656.
The American twin-engine Douglas A-20 was designed for two main missions. Its airframe, with its wing in the middle/upper position, could be configured for night fighter – with a powerful armament in the nose – or ground attack – with projectiles in the belly hold. This light bomber version was a significant success, not only with the U.S.A.F. but also with the British RAF, which named it "Boston". The nose of the Boston was glazed to accommodate the bomber but retained the solution of the forward tricycle landing gear, innovative for the time. It could carry up to 1,800 kg of offensive loads. It was produced in large numbers equipping the RAF, but also many air forces of the
Commonwealth of Soviet Air Force Units and Free French Air Forces.
