Beautiful Su-33 Flanker-D aircraft in 1/72 scale from Italeri reference 197.
The Sukhoi Su-27K "Sea Flanker" twin-engine air superiority fighter, later renamed the Su-33, is the carrier-based version of the famous Su-27. While maintaining the excellent performance of the Su-27, the "Sea Flanker" is intended to operate from the aircraft carriers of the Russian fleet. To do this, it has a reinforced airframe and landing gear and a landing hook making it suitable for naval operations. The new folding wings make it possible to limit the size of the aircraft on deck and in the aircraft carrier hangars. The first operational activities took place in the mid-1990s aboard the Admiral Kuznetsov.
