The F4U Corsair, a formidable combination of speed and firepower, was the mount of many aces during World War II. This kit features the F4U-1D variant, first deployed aboard US Navy aircraft carriers in April 1944. Its distinctive features, such as the raised pilot seat, higher tail wheel, and wider propeller blades, have been faithfully reproduced. The model can also be assembled with folded fenders. A pilot minifigure, drop tanks, and two types of windshields are included, as well as markings of three planes flown by American aces.
