Model Short Sirling Mk.III the scale 1/72 of Italeri reference 1462.

The Short Stirling was the first British four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War. It had a high wing, four engines and a cockpit raised from the fuselage. The cell was all metal. Another element that characterized the bomber was the impressive size of the landing gear. The first Stirlings entered service with the RAF Bomber Command in late 1940. Operational status was achieved in January 1941 and the first war mission took place in February 1941 against logistics facilities in Rotterdam. The Stirling Mk. I was capable of carrying a large offensive load of more than 6,000 kg of bombs and was defended by eight 7.7 mm machine guns. The direct successor to the Mk.I version was the Mk.III, equipped with new and improved Bristol Hercules XVI engines and reinforced defensive armament.
