Italeri F-15E Strike Eagle model aircraft, 1/48 scale, reference 2803.

The F-15A/C Eagle was designed in the 1970s to equip the US Air Force with an advanced and high-performance fighter. The F-15E Strike Eagle all-weather fighter-bomber was developed based on the two-seat B/D version. Designed for ground attack, bombing, and interdiction missions, it entered service with the USAF in the late 1980s. It retains features of the original F-15 design, such as the twin vertical stabilizers and the robust mid-wing. The rear seat of the two-seat cockpit is occupied by the WSO, the Weapon Systems Officer, who manages navigation, target tracking, and the use of electronic countermeasures. It has been used in numerous operations, beginning with the Desert Shield and Desert Storm campaigns in the early 1990s.

This kit includes a great decal sheet offering a choice of 6 aircraft from the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Lakenheath in Great Britain. All of them have the distinction of having participated in Operation Inherent Resolve in 2020 and all sport "villainous" nose art.
