Beautiful Junkers Ju52/3m Aircraft in 1/72 scale from Italeri reference 102.
Produced as early as the early 1930s for civilian use with Lufthansa and other major airlines, the Junkers Ju-52/3m was characterized by its airframe covered with corrugated metal plates and the addition of two additional engines on its wings (3m). This robust and reliable aircraft was soon adapted for military purposes by the Luftwaffe, mainly for transport. The Ju52, affectionately nicknamed "Aunt Ju", was used on all fronts throughout World War II and served as a mainstay of German military logistics to supply ground troops. It was also used for airborne operations, including paratrooper drops in the Netherlands in 1940 and Crete in 1941.
