The Italeri Focke-Wulf FW 190 A-7/A8 ACES 1/72 scale model aircraft reproduces one of the most famous German fighters of World War II.
Reference 1490 , this kit belongs to the Italeri fighter jet range with a model length of 12.4 cm and box dimensions of 258 x 162 x 38 mm .
This kit offers five versions of the Luftwaffe ACES livery with decals for five aircraft. The versions mentioned by Italeri are: Major Heinz “Pritzl” Bär , Obstlt. Otto Kittel , Major Josef “Pips” Priller , Leutnant Anton Rudolf Piffer , and Leutnant Gerhard Vogt .
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was produced in over 20,000 examples from 1941 onwards and was among the most famous fighters of the Luftwaffe. The Fw 190 A-8 version was equipped with a 14-cylinder BMW 801 D-2 radial engine producing 1,700 hp , with a claimed top speed of 653 km/h . Its armament included two MG 131 machine guns and four 20 mm MG 151 cannons . Italeri also specifies that the A-8 version, introduced in early 1944, featured a fuel injection system that allowed it to briefly increase power to over 1,900 hp .
