The Sd.Kfz 10 Demag D7 half-track tractor was used in large numbers by German troops during the 2nd G.M. on all major fronts, from the invasion of Poland to North Africa and Russia. Designed as a tractor for light, anti-aircraft and anti-tank artillery pieces, the Demag D7 could also carry eight fully equipped soldiers. The 4.2-litre Maybach 6-cylinder engine positioned at the front delivered 99hp and allowed to reach the maximum speed of 65km/h on the road. This equally comfortable off-road, reliable and versatile vehicle was produced in large numbers in various versions. The light howitzer Le. IG 18 was designed to provide artillery support to infantry companies. Reliable and precise, it was often towed to the area of operations by Demag or Protze tractors.
