With the return of the real Renault 5 in an all-electric version in 2024, Tamiya is reissuing the 1/24 kit of the Renault 5 Turbo Rally (released in 1982 and reissued for the first time in 2011) with new decals and a revamped instruction manual, with texts in French. The Renault 5 Turbo was a special version of the inimitable 5, developed for rallying. With a 1.4-liter inline-4 engine installed in place of the rear seat, the Turbo had a central configuration and used lightweight aluminum and plastic panels. Factory cars won many rallies on the world circuit in the early 1980s.
