Like its glorious predecessor the Xsara, the Citroën C4 WRC is a car with four-wheel drive, a 2-litre turbocharged engine coupled to a 6-speed transverse gearbox. The particularity of the C4 WRC is that it is longer than Xsara, exceeding 4m20, and thus being able to benefit from a greater width, going from 1770 to 1800mm. This change theoretically allows for better cornering stability. As also required by the regulations, the electronic driving assistance is reduced, identical to that of the Xsara in its 2006 configuration. Also in the context of the regulatory budget reduction, the sub-assemblies of the C4 WRC must also be more reliable and designed to last longer, such as the engine, gearbox, front, centre and rear differentials, shock absorbers, etc. The test vehicle was used for testing the technology and for adjustment trips and was devoid of stickers.
