Italeri 1/35 scale Sherman M4A3 Wet tank model, reference 96440.
The M4 Sherman medium tank was the most widespread and widely used armored vehicle during World War II. Produced in numerous versions and variants, it formed the backbone of the American armored forces. The "Wet" version was developed to reduce the risk of fire in combat, a common problem with early production versions. Introduced in 1944, it used fuel tanks positioned and designed to minimize the risk of explosion and fire. These tanks were immersed in a propylene glycol solution, hence the name "Wet." This modification proved effective, improving reliability and survivability in combat. The M4A3 Wet saw extensive use on the European front during the final stages of the conflict.
