Tamiya Pak38 anti-tank gun, 1/35 scale, reference 35392.
Model kit to assemble and paint. Paints and glue not included.
Length: 142 mm
At the start of GM II, the 3.7cm Pak 36 was the main anti-tank gun of the German forces. The 5cm Pak 38, developed to replace it, was deployed to units from July 1940. The Pak 38 had a muzzle brake, a torsion bar mount with aluminum alloy trailing arms, and its shield consisted of two 4mm steel plates spaced 25mm apart. This gun could penetrate 61mm thick armor angled at 60 degrees at a range of 500 meters with Panzergranate 39 shells. The Pak 38 saw its first combat action in the Balkans and during Operation Barbarossa in 1941. Although it could not defeat the Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks, it proved highly useful on numerous occasions and was essential in North Africa. Approximately 9,600 units were produced up to 1943 and used in infantry regiments until the end of the war.
Under reference 35392, this completely new Pak38 kit joins the other 1/35 scale German anti-tank guns in the Tamiya 1/35 Military Miniatures Series: Pak 35/36 3.7cm (35035), Pak40/ L46 7.5cm (35047) and Flak 36/37 88mm (35017).
• 1/35 scale model kit. Length: 142mm
• Faithful and detailed replica based on research carried out on the actual cannon.
