It's a car van to load 1200 kg of cargo in a volume of 7.3 m3. It was designed by Pierre Franchiset, to which it owes its name, the 'H', because it is the eighth draft of this type developed by Citroën, the H being the eighth letter of the alphabet. Its design is basic and it takes a lot of elements of other brand vehicles: engine and gearbox of the Traction wheel, meter, wiper of the 2cv. He was introduced to the public in 1947 and he received different motorization (1600 cm3, 1900cm 3, 16cv, 11cv) during his long career (34 years), during which more than 473 000 copies were produced. Depending on the load and its bodywork, the trade name changed, H (1200 kg payload), HZ (850 kg - 1000 kg), HY (1500 kg and 1600 kg, 1966), HP (plateau), HX (cold plate) or HW (Platform Builder). The last copy out of the Assembly in December 1981 (No. 473289).
